The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has given the green light<\/a>, allowing flights of both airlines to be marketed, distributed, and operated under the common brand name ‘Air India Express.\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AI Express responded to the regulatory approval with enthusiasm, hailing it as a major milestone in their integration efforts, \u201cThis development marks a significant fast-tracking of the integration efforts, including harmonisation of customer touch points, products, and services across both airlines.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, Air India Express operates flights from 20 cities within India to 14 regional international destinations, while AIX serves 19 domestic destinations. This combined network will provide an extensive reach for travelers, catering to both domestic and international routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the regulatory approval now in place, the Tata Group is set to navigate the path toward a merger of AIX Connect and Air India Express.
