These are activities celebrities, politicians and others participate in to communicate with the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>X will require the company to rebuild its cultural identity from the ground up to get the public used to it, if at all it is possible.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Brand value<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Twitter\u2019s brand value is estimated at about $4 billion, according to Brand Finance, and has already declined significantly in value since he purchased it for $44 billion in October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the method to determine brand value is difficult with no single approach, the consensus is that X&#8217;s brand has already taken damage since Musk\u2019s takeover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brand Finance Estimates a loss of 32% of its value since last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Advertisers&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Along with the loss of brand value, advertisers have also quit the platform amid concerns of Musk\u2019s penchant for controversy and leniency towards users who broke content rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTwitter\u2019s corporate brand is already heavily intertwined with Musk\u2019s personal brand, with or without the name X, and much of Twitter\u2019s established brand equity has already been lost among users and advertisers,\u201d said Jasmine Enberg, an analyst with Insider Intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Advertising revenue at Twitter is down more than 50% since October, Musk has said himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dumb decision<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s \u201ccompletely irrational from a business and brand point of view,\u201d said Allen Adamson, co-founder of the marketing and brand consulting group Metaforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It appears to be an \u201cego decision\u201d on the part of Musk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTo me, it\u2019s going to go down in history as one of the fastest unwinding of a business and brand ever&#8221;, commented Adamson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will also hurt chances of building banking and payments into the app, one of Musk\u2019s future goals, to take off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will require and depend on customer trust, which is <a href=\"https:\/\/www-bqprime-com.cdn.ampproject.org\/c\/s\/www.bqprime.com\/amp\/business\/twitter-turning-into-x-is-set-to-kill-billions-in-brand-value\">lacking <\/a>outside of his core fan base.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to analysts and brand agencies, Twitter, recently renamed to \u201cX\u201d, will lose between $4 billion and $20 billion in value.
