After a successful beta period starting from March 2023, during which the app garnered over 1.7 million installations and facilitated the transfer of more than 50 million files between PCs and Android devices, Google announced the official release in a recent blog post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the official launch, Google has introduced several new enhancements to the Nearby Share app. Users can now view estimated transfer times, gaining insight into the sharing speed of larger files like videos or entire folders. Moreover, the app now provides image previews in device notifications, ensuring users confirm the correct file before sharing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Google also disclosed ongoing collaborations with partners like HP to integrate the Nearby Share app into select Windows PCs, further simplifying the sharing process between Android devices and PCs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
