Recently, the GMR Hyderabad International Airport has come up with the Self-Baggage Drop<\/a> facility near Gate Entry Number 9. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The international airport has installed eight fully automated self-baggage machines in order to fully enhance the\u00a0efficiency and seamless travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, these machines are equipped with scanners, scales, and sensors hence enabling the passengers to complete their baggage check-in facility in just 45-60 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While talking about the new service, Mr Pradeep Panicker, CEO, GHIAL said, \u201cWe are happy to add another convenience of the new self-baggage facility for passengers transiting through the Hyderabad airport. This will further ease travel and enhance their travel experience. The technology integration of the self-bag drop and check-in process makes travel faster and simpler. As we continue to invest in new- age technologies, we remain committed to provide a delightful travel experience for all our passengers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How Does It Work?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To start with, the travelers will have to approach a self check-in kiosk at Hyderabad Airport to print the boarding pass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While doing so, they need the baggage option and provide the details such as the number of bags, weight and print the bag tag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After tagging the luggage, the passengers need to proceed to the self-bag drop unit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There, they need to place the baggage on the conveyor belt and scan the barcode on their boarding pass to initiate the bag drop process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Basically, the self-bag drop unit is meant to perform the  checks on the bag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When everything is in order, it processes the bag and sends a confirmation to the airline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In case, the baggage does not meet the required criteria then the self-bag drop unit rejects it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will further prompt the passenger to seek assistance from a check-in agent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The passenger will need to approach the baggage counter of the airline in case of excess baggage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first time this self-baggage drop facility has been rolled out for Indigo Airlines passengers traveling to Bangalore and Chennai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Self Baggage Drop Installation In Delhi International Airport  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, the Delhi International Airport Ltd on Monday (DIAL) said it has introduced a Self Baggage Drop (SBD) facility at Terminal 3 on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the implementation of this facility, SBD aims to streamline the baggage drop-off process and reduce the wait time for passengers by around 15-20 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This way, they plan to enhance the overall airport experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presently, this facility can cater to up to three passengers per minute, as per the information provided by DIAL. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far the domestic passengers will be able to use the and it will be made available for international passengers post mandatory approvals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 14 SBD machines, including 12 automated and two hybrids, have been installed at present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
