{"id":1246594,"date":"2023-06-16T10:13:45","date_gmt":"2023-06-16T04:43:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/?p=1246594"},"modified":"2023-06-16T10:14:21","modified_gmt":"2023-06-16T04:44:21","slug":"northeast-indias-1st-ever-airlines-gets-govt-approval-jettwings-airlines-flying-soon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/northeast-indias-1st-ever-airlines-gets-govt-approval-jettwings-airlines-flying-soon\/","title":{"rendered":"Northeast India&#8217;s 1st Ever Airlines Gets Govt Approval &#8211; Jettwings Airlines Flying Soon!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Jettwings Airways said it has received the no objection certificate (NOC) to operate Scheduled Commuter Air Transport Services in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"465\" src=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Untitled-design-2-4.png\" alt=\"Northeast India's 1st Ever Airlines Gets Govt Approval - Jettwings Airlines Flying Soon!\" class=\"wp-image-1246600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Untitled-design-2-4.png 1000w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Untitled-design-2-4-300x140.png 300w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Untitled-design-2-4-768x357.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Northeast-based<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airline has been established with a vision to revolutionize regional connectivity by delivering superior service, comfort and convenience to passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;An airline born in the Northeast with the sense of doing business in India was much needed and Jettwings Airways shall strive to achieve the same in the next few months of our preparations as we near take off,&#8221; said Sanjay Aditya Singh, Co-founder and CEO, Jettwings Airways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Servicing Northeast and eastern regions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is the latest entrant in the aviation sector and plans to start flying from October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has its base in Guwahati and plans to offer regional connectivity under the government&#8217;s UDAN scheme to a number of destinations in the Northeast and eastern regions initially.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>UDAN scheme<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We believe that under the UDAN scheme, we have a unique opportunity to make significant impact on the Northeast region by improving connectivity and creating new economic opportunities,&#8221; Sanjive Narain, Chairman, Jettwings Airways, said at a press conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once approved for flight operations, Jettwings will be the first-ever company from the Northeast region to start airline operations in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Series of approvals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It needs to obtain all necessary regulatory approvals and an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We will be working closely with DGCA to complete our readiness and formalities for Scheduled Commuter Airlines operations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once we are granted the AOC, we strongly believe and commit to becoming a reliable and sustainable airline with its roots deeply entrenched in Northeast India, connecting unique yet important destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fleet<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After that it plans to introduce a fleet of modern aircraft, including turbofan and turbo-propelled ones, to offer premium economy services for regional travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company is expecting two aircraft by October and will immediately start flying operations once the planes are received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Narain revealed the company&#8217;s plan to lease at least five planes within a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will lease these aircraft from companies suggested by the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Other initiatives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has earmarked \u20b9 100 crore for initial funding of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to service the demand for reliable, quick and high-quality service in regional connectivity the airline has assembled a team of experienced aviation professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It also plans to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ndtv.com\/business\/jettwings-airways-1st-airline-from-northeast-india-gets-centres-approval-ops-likely-from-october-4120737\">introduce <\/a>a loyalty programme to reward frequent flyers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jettwings Airways said it has received the no objection certificate (NOC) to operate Scheduled Commuter Air Transport Services in the country.
