Notice Issued By Delhi Lawyer\" class=\"wp-image-1245752\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Untitled-design-22-2-1280x720-1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Untitled-design-22-2-1280x720-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Untitled-design-22-2-1280x720-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Untitled-design-22-2-1280x720-1.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Non-veg product marked green<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use of &#8216;non-veg&#8217; ingredients in products marketed &amp; sold as vegetarian is a violation of consumer rights, says a notice issued by Delhi-based BLJ Law Firm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has accused the company of&nbsp; \u201cdeceptively\u201d using a \u201cnon-vegetarian\u201d ingredient in its dental care products \u2014 \u2018Divya Dant Manjan\u2019 \u2014 and denoting it with a \u201cgreen\u201d sign on the product label.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Context<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2026The use of Samudra Fen, which is a non-vegetarian ingredient, in Divya Dant Manjan while marketing and selling it as a vegetarian product is the violation of the consumer rights and the labeling regulations of the said category of products (sic),\u201d said the notice issued by Delhi-based BLJ Law Firm and undersigned by lawyer Sasha Jain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Samudra Fen is an animal product obtained from the bones of cuttlefish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It contains calcium carbonate, phosphate, sulfate and silica, which is used as a scraping agent in dental care products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fooling the public<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPeople buy Patanjali products blindly due to their faith in (Yoga guru) Baba Ramdev ji,\u201d said the notice.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYour company is expected to maintain the highest standards of ethics and transparency and the use of green mark for a product containing Samudra Fen, which is a fish, goes against these standards.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2026Some of my family members, relatives, colleagues and friends use your Divya Dant Manjan, and their <a href=\"https:\/\/theprint.in\/india\/patanjali-gets-legal-notice-for-using-cuttlefish-bones-in-dental-care-product-marked-vegetarian\/1581342\/?amp=&amp;utm_campaign=fullarticle&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_source=inshorts\">religious sentiments<\/a> were hurt when they learned about the deceptive use of Samudra Fen in the product,\u201d the notice said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What the company claims<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the notice it asked the company for clarification within 15 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBy using this tooth powder, gums become strong.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Resultantly dental problems like Pieria (flow of blood and pus from the gums) would be solved and the tiny food particles that are left in between the gums would be pushed out,\u201d says the product description.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBad odor from the mouth would cease.
