Online Bookings Severely Impacted\" class=\"wp-image-1245125\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Untitled-design-6-4.png 1000w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Untitled-design-6-4-300x140.png 300w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Untitled-design-6-4-768x357.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>UPSRTC further mentioned that the perpetrators have demanded money to restore the system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHacker encrypted the data of the passengers and demanded a ransom of Rs 40 crores in bitcoins in Indian currency valuation for returning this data to the Transport Department.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hacker also threatened to double the amount if the money is not received in two days,\u201d the official said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Online bookings affected<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The UPSRTC website was hacked at around 2 am on Wednesday by some foreign hackers, leading to online bookings through the state run bus service coming to a standstill.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UPSRTC General Manager (IT) Yajuvendra Singh said that a case has been <a href=\"https:\/\/theprint.in\/india\/upsrtc-ticket-website-hacked-hacker-demands-bitcoins-worth-rs-40-crores\/1543287\/https:\/\/theprint.in\/india\/upsrtc-ticket-website-hacked-hacker-demands-bitcoins-worth-rs-40-crores\/1543287\/\">registered <\/a>under the IT Act for damaging online data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Orion Pro Company is responsible for the online ticketing system of the Transport Corporation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Third party firm deploys own experts<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has deployed a team of experts to recover the website data while also seeking a week&#8217;s time to set up new servers and restore online bookings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It also filed a police case in Navi Mumbai and a separate case has been filed at the Gomti Nagar police station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The UP government has ordered a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livemint.com\/news\/india\/upsrtc-website-hack-halts-online-booking-for-10-days-details-here-11682564530876.html\">third-party<\/a> security audit for all the applications and web portals managed by M\/s Orion Pro.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Back to manual operations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Restoration work is underway and UPSRTC plans to restore the online ticketing system in all 20 areas and 115 depots of the company over the course of next 7-10 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is likely to take around 10 days to start online bookings again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the transport corporation&#8217;s buses are being operated through manual ticketing, so that the operation of the buses is not affected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regional officers have been asked to monitor bus stands and depots for 24 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hindustantimes.com\/lucknow\/upsrtc-bus-service-in-11-green-zone-districts-from-today\/story-pxxOJvYGHnANcs7sgsLpSI.html\">Image<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A hacker got into the ticketing system of the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC), officials said on Thursday.
