{"id":1244358,"date":"2023-04-05T10:41:51","date_gmt":"2023-04-05T05:11:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/?p=1244358"},"modified":"2023-04-05T10:42:22","modified_gmt":"2023-04-05T05:12:22","slug":"honda-india-is-now-selling-only-two-cars-in-india-stops-selling-these-popular-cars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/honda-india-is-now-selling-only-two-cars-in-india-stops-selling-these-popular-cars\/","title":{"rendered":"Honda India Is Now Selling Only Two Cars In India: Stops Selling These Popular Cars"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>At present, the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese multinational carmaker, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cartoq.com\/honda-is-officially-a-2-car-company-in-india-only-city-and-amaze-on-sale\/\">Honda Motor<\/a> Company officially offers only two cars in its product lineup in India.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"465\" src=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Untitled-design-36.jpg\" alt=\"Honda India Is Now Selling Only Two Cars In India: Stops Selling These Popular Cars \" class=\"wp-image-1244366\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Untitled-design-36.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Untitled-design-36-300x140.jpg 300w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Untitled-design-36-768x357.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How Did This Happen?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It appears that the company had to discontinue a number of vehicles from its lineup considering the recent implementation of BS6 Phase 2 Real Driving Emission (RDE) norms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So now, it is left with only the fifth-generation Honda City and the new Honda Amaze in the country.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides this a few other cars were also discontinued by the company prior to the emission norms because of lackluster sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The carmaker had the hatchback Jazz and WR-V, along with the fourth-generation City, in its lineup until March this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But, the company had to discontinue these models with the onset of the new and more stringent emission norms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After suffering from extremely low sales, the company has discontinued its more premium offerings, the CR-V and Civic during 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Honda\u2019s Present Offerings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At present, Honda Cars India offers the fifth-generation Honda City and its hybrid avatar, the City e:HEV, in its lineup as their flagship sedans.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The carmaker has also launched the facelifted version of the fifth-generation City starting from Rs 11.49 lakh.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When it comes to the top-end variant of the new City, it is priced at Rs 20.39 lakh for the top-spec City Hybrid.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It seems that this new Honda City facelift is offered with a few minor cosmetic changes, more equipment, new entry-level variants, and a new shade of blue color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further, it is powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine and comes with a manual or CVT transmission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the meantime, the hybrid model gets an eCVT and a 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notably, only the Honda City offers both a hybrid and an eCVT in its class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides this, the only other car left in the Honda lineup is the compact sedan Amaze.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its pricing starts at Rs 6.99 and goes all the way up to Rs 9.48 lakh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is offered in three variants with both manual and automatic transmission options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further, this car is powered by a 1.2 L 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces a maximum of 88 bhp of power and 110 Nm of torque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a piece of good news for Honda enthusiasts in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It appears that the company is in the midst of developing a Creta rivaling SUV, which will most likely be based on the Indonesian markets\u2019 WR-V.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although, it will be given a new name to fit the Indian market.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At present, the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese multinational carmaker, Honda Motor Company officially offers only two cars in its product lineup in India.&nbsp; How Did This Happen?
