The BIS 15103 grade steel structural steels are designed to withstand temperatures up to 600 degrees celsius for 3 hours,&#8221; it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Till date, this grade is being imported at present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company also said that the domestic production will help the country to reduce the imports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>JSPL MD Bimlendra Jha said that &#8220;The license provided to the company will be a game-changer in strengthening India&#8217;s infrastructure and its safety standards. Fire-resistant steel will provide much-needed assurance to the end users for fire safety, building a safer AtmaNirbhar Bharat\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a investments worth USD 12 billion, JSPL(part of OP Jindal Group) is an industrial powerhouse with a dominant presence in the steel, mining and infrastructure sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>More about Structural Steel<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Steel shall be called as fire-resistant if its strength when heated to such temperatures for short periods of time remains equal to 0.6\u20130.7 of its strength at room temperature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The steels that are designed to be fire-resistant up to 700\u00b0 C can use the Cr-Mo-V-Nb alloying system.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The greatest resistance to fire \u2014 up to 800\u00b0C \u2014 is obtained in steels that contain boron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Structural fire safety has gained prominence especially after the World Trade Centre disaster and now is one of the primary considerations in the design of high rise buildings where steel is frequently the material of choice for structural members.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>India&#8217;s first fire-resistant steel structures shall be manufactured at the Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) at its unit in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh.
