The rest are team leaders and a team manager.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Wipro remains deeply committed to the region.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And all other Wipro employees serving clients in the Tampa area remain unaffected,&#8221; the company said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Slashing freshers\u2019 salaries<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just as layoffs have become an industry-wide trend, Wipro has also asked fresh recruits who were initially offered Rs 6.5 lakh per annum if they could settle for Rs 3.5 lakh per annum instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wipro wrote to tech graduates it had hired for the Turbo programme with salary offers of \u20b96.5 lakh per annum that they would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livemint.com\/news\/wipro-sacks-120-employees-in-us-over-realignment-of-business-needs-11679155702997.html\">instead <\/a>be placed in the Elite programme, which offers \u20b93.5 lakh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Global presence<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has a headcount of about 20,500 employees located across the United States, Canada and LATAM (Mexico and Brazil).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Americas region makes up nearly 60% of Wipro\u2019s global revenues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Globally, the company has over 250,000 employees and business partners across 66 countries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wipro will lay off at least 120 employees in the state of Florida, the US, due to a &#8220;realignment of business needs&#8221;. describing it as an isolated incident.
