unveiling<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A video from the YouTube channel \u2018Oye Arjun\u2019 has documented the whole ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Jimny is seen being unloaded at the Gurugram NEXA showroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is fully covered under a black cloth when unloading from a crane, which is taken off after.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>First look<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Appearance wise it looks to be pretty big and tall for its compact size, indicating its striking road presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this video, the vehicle sports its signature shade of Kinetic Yellow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Launch history<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is expected to be officially launched toward the end of April 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before this happens, it will be displayed at all the NEXA showrooms across the country to pique public interest and drum up anticipation for its launch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This car was first unveiled at the Auto Expo in January 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was showcased beside the all-new Fronx crossover, which is also expected to arrive in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bookings now open<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This version of the Jimny keeps the classic neo-retro design of the three-door version sold overseas, which has a longer wheelbase and two additional doors for the second row.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After taking off the wraps the carmaker opened bookings at all of its authorized dealer outlets and on its official website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maruti Suzuki was tight-lipped about the prices and launch timeline of the SUV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Arrival, price<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, dealerships have confirmed that they will be receiving the first lot in the second half of April 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is expected to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cardekho.com\/india-car-news\/maruti-jimny-reaches-dealerships-ahead-of-launch-30553.htm\">priced <\/a>from Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Interior<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interior features include a nine-inch touchscreen display, cruise control and automatic climate control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also to look forward to are a touchscreen information display with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, auto LED headlamps and cruise control.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Safety features<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The five-door configuration enhances practicality despite being a four-seater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coming to safety, the Jimny <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cardekho.com\/india-car-news\/maruti-jimny-reaches-dealerships-ahead-of-launch-30553.htm\">offers <\/a>six airbags, ABS with EBD, hill-hold assist, electronic stability program (ESP), brake assist and a rearview camera as standard safety features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Powertrain, transmission<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new Jimny will be available solely with a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It churns out 104 PS of maximum power and 138 Nm of maximum torque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will be available with Suzuki\u2019s AllGrip four-wheel-drive system as standard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Competition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The carmaker is also working on an electric version of the SUV, but not for the Indian market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The regular variant arrives in two variants \u2013 Zeta and Alpha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its main competitors for now appear to be the Mahindra Thar <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cartoq.com\/maruti-suzuki-jimny-reaches-nexa-showrooms-price-announcement-soon\/\">once <\/a>launched in India and the Force
