Google revealed last month that the Meet app for mobile devices will get emoji reactions and 360-degree virtual backgrounds. In fact, the tech titan is currently making the new 360-degree virtual background feature available to users of Android and iOS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You might have to wait a while before using the new 360-degree virtual backgrounds<\/a> on your device because it appears that Google is still rolling out the feature. Google Meet recently received a new feature that allows users to grant meeting participants, including those on the calendar guest list, access to the materials they are presenting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recently introduced 360-degree virtual backgrounds make use of the phone’s gyroscope and change dynamically depending on how you rotate or move your phone. It is beneficial for those who frequently participate in video conferences or calls while on the go. However, if the caller is constantly moving around, some people might find it to be extremely distracting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It appears that Google Meet’s developers will soon be adding more options. Initially, Google Meet will only have a few virtual backgrounds, such as a beach and temple. It will be interesting to observe whether users favor the 360-degree virtual backgrounds over Meet’s current selection of background options, which includes wallpapers, blue effects, face filters, and filters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For all Google Workspace users and users with personal Google Accounts globally, the Google Meet 360-degree virtual background feature is accessible on Android and iOS devices. The fact that administrators can enable or disable backgrounds for their users should be noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
