{"id":1242967,"date":"2023-02-17T13:52:26","date_gmt":"2023-02-17T08:22:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/?p=1242967"},"modified":"2023-02-17T13:52:59","modified_gmt":"2023-02-17T08:22:59","slug":"d2ctech-love-report-valentines-day-triggers-150-more-d2c-spending-these-products-were-in-high-demand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/d2ctech-love-report-valentines-day-triggers-150-more-d2c-spending-these-products-were-in-high-demand\/","title":{"rendered":"#D2CTech Love Report: Valentines&#8217; Day Triggers 150% More D2C Spending; These Products Were In High Demand"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Instamojo, a #D2CTech brand from India has released its #D2CTech Love Report curating marketing trends and consumer preferences especially around Valentine\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Untitled-design-44-1280x720-2-1024x576.jpeg\" alt=\"#D2CTech Love Report: Valentines' Day Triggers 150% More D2C Spending; These Products Were In High Demand\" class=\"wp-image-1242976\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Untitled-design-44-1280x720-2-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Untitled-design-44-1280x720-2-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Untitled-design-44-1280x720-2-768x432.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Untitled-design-44-1280x720-2.jpeg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Urban areas dominate<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One significant finding is how Valentine&#8217;s Day has been largely an urban phenomenon with a major proportion of the sales limited to Tier I and Tier II cities while smaller towns are yet to catch up.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tier-I cities have the highest demand for D2C products during Valentine\u2019s day, contributing to 45% of the total demand in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, this demand appears to be slipping with Tier-I cities recording a drop of 6% since 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tier-2 cities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coming in second are Tier-2 cities that have the second highest demand for D2C products during the occasion contributing to 35% of the total demand in 2022.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These cities seem to be slowly replacing Tier-1 cities recording a growth of 13% in demand since 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Demands for valentine gifts<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Demand for products was the highest a week before Valentine\u2019s week, however brands\u2019 conversion of this demand to sales was the lowest with more than 2% of the consumers dropping off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Demand to sale conversion was the highest on the week of valentine\u2019s day and the week after.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is largely because people who finalize a product a week before valentine\u2019s day actually buy the product on the week of valentine\u2019s or after.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>68% of the total demand for D2C products was received a week before and after Valentine\u2019s day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Most popular categories by sales across the week&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>23% of all sales during Valentine\u2019s week happened on Mondays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>29% of sales happened on Tuesdays which were mainly spent on flowers and gifts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beauty and Personal Care had the highest sales on Wednesday and Thursday, contributing a total of 41% to the overall sales in this category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only 5% of customers chose to travel on Monday and Wednesday, in contrast to Fridays, which were preferred by 26% of customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>About 29% of the customers bought Gifts and Flowers on Tuesdays.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Thursdays, more than 40% of customers adopted Pets and Animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fridays and Saturdays were mainly spent in leisure while on Sundays people indulged in arts and crafts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Instamojo, a #D2CTech brand from India has released its #D2CTech Love Report curating marketing trends and consumer preferences especially around Valentine\u2019s Day.
