In contrast to the recent string of mass layoffs in multiple companies, Airbus intends to recruit<\/a> more than 13,000 people globally in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Going against the grain<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has been a brutal period for the private sector, particularly the IT one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second half of 2022 saw companies laying off thousands of employees as they braced to cut costs amid recession fears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This continued well into the new year 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As many as 67,268 employees have been sacked this January alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now Airbus is looking to hire in a complex environment which tested “our resilience and attractiveness as a global employer.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opportunity for layoff victims<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the success <\/a>of the recruitment last year, Airbus will hire over 13,000 employees again in 2023, said Thierry Baril, Chief Human Resources and Workplace Officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This creates a perfect opportunity for tech industry workers who were let go as part of an industry wide downsizing drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why? This is because <\/a>Airbus might onboard some workers laid off by technology giants, especially if they have the skill sets in areas the company is trying to develop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Skills sought<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recruitment drive will take place globally, focusing on technical and manufacturing profiles, as well as acquiring new skills in areas such as new energies, cyber and digital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to supporting its commercial aircraft ramp-up, the new hires will help meet defence, space, and helicopter challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
