Maruti Suzuki has issued a recall of 11,177 units of Grand Vitara that have been manufactured between 8 August, 2022 and 15 November, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It said there is a ‘possible defect in rear seat belt mounting brackets’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Grand Vitara, which was launched in September 2022, is currently the company\u2019s flagship SUV in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The suspected issue<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In its regulatory filing it said, “It is suspected that there is a possible defect in rear seat belt mounting brackets (\u201cParts”), which in a rare case, may loosen in the long run and impact its functionality. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vehicle owners will be receiving communication from Maruti Suzuki authorized dealer workshops for inspection and replacement of the affected parts, free <\/a>of cost.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second recall in one month<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just last week<\/a> the carmaker had issued a recall of 17,362 units of six of its models to correct a possible defect in the airbag controller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Models in question are Alto K10, S-Presso, Eeco,Brezza, Baleno and Grand Vitara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those affected were manufactured between 8 December 2022 and 12 January, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement it said, “The recall is being undertaken to inspect and replace Airbag Controller (\u201caffected part”), free of cost, if required in these vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is suspected that there is a possible defect in affected part, which in rare case might result in non-deployment of the airbags and seat belt pretensioners, in the event of a vehicle crash.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The previous recall<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest recall is now the fourth in the past four months from the company\u2019s end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last recall took place In December when the company recalled 9,125 units of its Ciaz, Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, and Grand Vitara models to fix possible defects in the front row seat belts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The affected vehicles were manufactured between November 2-28, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to that, it had recalled 9,925 units of Celerio, Ignis, and Wagon R for a defect in the rear brake assembly pin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The third Grand Vitara recall<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is also the third recall announced by Maruti for this particular model, the Grand Vitara SUV in two months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The earliest<\/a> was to address a possible defect in one of the child parts of the shoulder height adjuster assembly of the front seat belts which could lead to seat belt disassembly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
