The MMRDA will be connecting the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesnownews.com\/mumbai\/direct-access-to-mumbai-metro-from-housing-societies-shopping-malls-offices-soon-to-start-with-oberoi-and-nesco-article-97195318\">Metro rail network<\/a> to crowded office buildings, shopping malls, large housing societies, and other public hubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MMRDA to Connect Mumbai Metro With Offices, Shopping Malls<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first such facilities will be built at Oberoi Mall and NESCO Goregaon, according to SVR Srinivas, the metropolitan commissioner of MMRDA. The project&#8217;s launch plans are being finalized by the authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Passengers will be able to enter these nearby buildings without any difficulty because the Metro stations will be connected to them via skywalks or travelators. Additionally, this should make the roads near apartment buildings, workplaces, and shopping malls easier to navigate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The recently opened Lines 2A and 7 of the Metro are close to a number of apartment buildings, shopping centres, and offices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Residents of Mumbai Happy With Ease of Access Provided<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many residents of the very crowded metro city are pleased with the decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One resident, Gauri Patil stated, \u201cThis is a great initiative and will surely help thousands of people in the city. Though the offices and malls are closer to Metro stations, reaching them is tiresome. During the morning and evening, many roads in the city often get choked because of the rush of people heading to metro stations. Hope all these issued will be addressed now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Others, however, argued that the government should have planned these facilities while building the stations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) was also introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday in Mumbai. At Metro stations, these mobility cards guarantee quicker, contactless digital ticket purchases.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At metro station entry gates, NCMS cards, an inter-system transport card that was nationally introduced in 2019 as part of the &#8220;One Nation One Card&#8221; initiative, can be displayed.
