{"id":1241445,"date":"2023-01-09T10:54:44","date_gmt":"2023-01-09T05:24:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/?p=1241445"},"modified":"2023-01-09T10:55:25","modified_gmt":"2023-01-09T05:25:25","slug":"worlds-longest-river-cruise-will-launch-in-this-indian-city-check-stunning-features-itinerary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/worlds-longest-river-cruise-will-launch-in-this-indian-city-check-stunning-features-itinerary\/","title":{"rendered":"World&#8217;s Longest River Cruise Will Launch In This Indian City: Check Stunning Features &amp; Itinerary!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to flag off the world\u2019s longest river cruise \u2014 \u2018Ganga Vilas\u2019 on January 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"465\" src=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Untitled-design-2.png\" alt=\"World's Longest River Cruise Will Launch In This Indian City: Check Stunning Features &amp; Details!\" class=\"wp-image-1241458\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Untitled-design-2.png 1000w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Untitled-design-2-300x140.png 300w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Untitled-design-2-768x357.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In brief<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will travel from Varanasi to Dibrugarh via Bangladesh to visit over 50 architecturally important places, including world heritage sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cruise will also pass through national parks and sanctuaries, including the Sundarbans Delta and the Kaziranga National Park.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Minister provides information<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways had tweeted back in November,&nbsp; \u201cThe world\u2019s longest river cruise will commence its journey in January next year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ganga Vilas will set sail from sacred Varanasi to Dibrugarh via Bangladesh covering 4,000 km on the two greatest rivers of India, Ganga and Brahmaputra.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Features<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It features facilities such as music, cultural programs, a gym, a spa, an open-air observation deck, personalised butler service, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The luxury river cruise has a capacity of 80 passengers with 18 suites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the official website, it is \u201cBuilt with a unique design and a futuristic vision.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will &#8220;meander across various prominent destinations that lie along Kolkata\u2019s River Hooghly to Varanasi\u2019s River Ganges.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Itinerary<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the timetable released earlier, the journey will begin from Varanasi and will reach Patna on the 8th day, passing through Buxar, Ramnagar and Ghazipur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From Patna, the cruise will set sail for Kolkata and will reach there on the 20th day via Farakka and Murshidabad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next day, it will set off for Dhaka and enter the Bangladesh border where it will remain for the next 15 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, it will come back to India through Guwahati before sailing through Sibsagar and reaching its final destination at Dibrugarh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>USPs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Forbes, guests onboard will visit major landmarks ranging from Varanasi \u2013 one of the oldest cities on earth\u2013 to the abandoned Buddhist monastery Vikramshila<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Bangladesh leg of the trip will give them a chance to take in the beauty of the ghost city of Sonargaon and the ornate 1400s-era Sixty Dome Mosque, among other historically and culturally <a href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/lifestyle\/destination-of-the-week\/ganga-vilas-worlds-longest-river-cruise-details-route-varanasi-bangladesh-dibrugarh-8358008\/?utm_campaign=fullarticle&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_source=inshorts\">significant <\/a>places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.psuconnect.in\/news\/pm-modi-dedicates-gsl-built-20m-varanasi-ferry-to-nation\/28639\/\">Image<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to flag off the world\u2019s longest river cruise \u2014 \u2018Ganga Vilas\u2019 on January 13.
