The iPhone 14 will be manufactured in India beginning in September 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Apple\u2019s Manufacturers and Suppliers Created 50K Jobs In Less Than A Year<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to government officials who cited data submitted by the companies, Apple manufacturing could have resulted in the creation of nearly 100,000 indirect jobs in addition to the number of direct jobs. Beneficiaries of the PLI scheme are required to submit job data to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology on a quarterly basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apart from Apple, South Korean company Samsung also benefits from the incentive scheme, employing over 11,500 people at its Noida unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to government officials, iPhone maker Foxconn created more than 40% of the jobs among the three Apple contract manufacturers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Increase of 45000 Expected in Next 18 Months<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As per reports, component and module providers who have increased capacity for the Apple iPhone supply chain over the last 17 months have added a few thousand direct jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to experts, Apple&#8217;s contract manufacturers could be the largest provider of blue-collar jobs in India&#8217;s fast-growing electronics sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tata Group, which has established a unit spread across 500 acres in Hosur to manufacture smartphone components, including those for iPhones, employs approximately 10,000 people.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conglomerate anticipates an increase to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesnownews.com\/business-economy\/industry\/apple-contractors-in-india-gave-direct-employment-to-50000-people-samsungs-noida-unit-employs-over-11000-article-96678798?utm_campaign=fullarticle&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_source=inshorts\">45,000 in the next 18 months<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Employment Increased After PLI Scheme Introduced<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The production-linked incentive scheme was first announced in April 2020, but it went into effect on August 1, 2020, after the guidelines were published. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was extended by a year, making the effective start date for Apple&#8217;s contract manufacturers August 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to sources privy to the matter, the Apple supplier has plans to increase its workforce at its plant in India by four times over the next two years, given the ongoing and sort-of-persisting strict Covid-19 restrictions in China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, Apple\u2019s largest iPhone manufacturing unit will now be developed near Hosur in Bengaluru as confirmed by Telecom and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
