In 2022 Maruti Suzuki had launched two new SUVs in India \u2013 the new Brezza and the Grand Vitara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both received positive response from buyers if a waiting period of up to 6 months is any indication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2023 offerings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The automaker is now aiming towards greater market share in the SUV segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is now gearing up to launch two new SUVs in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One is a new SUV Coupe, internally codenamed YTB and the other is the Jimny 5-door lifestyle SUV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Common features<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both will sit under 4 meters in length, making it the brand\u2019s third SUV measuring under 4 meters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are also expected to cost under Rs 10 lakh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The YTB SUV Coupe and the Jimny 5-door are scheduled to make their global debut at the 2023 Auto Expo in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the former is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2023, the Jimny will go on sale by mid-2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YTB SUV: Platform, design<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company could announce the prices of the YTB SUV Coupe at the Indian auto expo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will be based on the lightweight Heartect platform that underpins the new Baleno hatchback and will also borrow its cabin layout and features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The design will be inspired by the Futuro-e concept, which was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The front fascia is likely to share the styling with the Grand Vitara which features a sharply designed nose with wider grille and chrome strips, along with split headlamp setup with slim LED DRLs & the 3-block NEXA signature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new model will have pronounced wheel arches, black side cladding, a coupe-like roofline and raised suspension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YTB SUV: Rivals, powertrain<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will be sold through NEXA dealership network and will rival the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and the Hyundai Venue\/Kia Sonet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will be powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder Boosterjet turbo petrol engine with mild hybrid tech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lower variants could also get a 1.2L Dualjet petrol engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jimny 5-door SUV<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jimny 5-door will be based on the modified ladder-on-frame chassis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Compared to the 3-door Jimny Sierra, the new 5-door model will ride on a 300mm longer wheelbase and will offer more cabin space and a bigger boot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is likely to be powered by a 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine that produces 102bhp and 130Nm of torque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The engine could be fitted with Suzuki\u2019s mild hybrid tech, which should improve its fuel efficiency and reduce emission levels<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transmission options <\/a>will include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
