Covid Return Affecting Remote Working<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Although, no surge in Covid cases has not been reported In India so far. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In case, a fourth wave hits the country, companies in the tourism, hospitality, transport and real estate sectors may switch to remote working (WFH), as per a report<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we all know that the companies had switched to work-from-home during two years of the Covid pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The employees were asked to come to the office more often with the commencement of 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During this time, few companies shifted to hybrid working instead of completely working from office or home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hiring Slowdown<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The managing partner, Singapore and India, for recruitment firm Stanton Chase, Mala Chawla said, \u201cThe covid news is coming at a time there was a hiring slowdown. Clients in tourism and hospitality are getting more cautious, but those in other sectors like manufacturing and consumer have not stopped hiring,” in the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the meantime, \u201cHospitality, automobile, commercial and office real estate, Travel, transportation and mobility will be on high alert,” said CEO and co-founder of Careernet, Anshuman Das.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The co-founder, Xpheno, Kamal Karanth said, \u201cThe covid-19 impact, at best, may impact the nature of engagement of work, such as remote working. And travel plans, more than the hiring numbers.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It appears that Covid return is most likely to impact the work mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Still, the human resource (HR) industry expects certain profiles to come back in demand if India sees a 4th Covid wave. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saas In Demand<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Das further added, \u201cDigital and software-as-a-service (SaaS) sectors will see significant demand in hiring, as well as e-tailing, edtech, online gaming, logistics and fintech,”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Considering the rise in Covid cases, the government has made mandatory Covid-19 testing mandatory for all travelers coming from Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Thailand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A high surge in Covid cases due to Omicron subvariant BF.7 is reported in China recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
