An Economic Intelligence Unit survey has come out with a list of worst 10 liveable cities in the world with respect to living conditions as assessed in 140 global cities. As expected, most of these cities are concentrated in Africa and Asia when compared on various qualitative indicators.


India’s financial capital Mumbai finds a sweet spot at 116th position. Fortunately, none of the Indian cities have found its mention in the worst 10 cities globally.

Here is the list of worst 10 cities to live in the world:

2) Dhaka, Bangladesh

3) Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea

4) Laos, Nigeria

5) Algiers, Algeria

6) Tripoli, Libya

7) Karachi, Pakistan

8 ) Douala, Cameroon

9) Tehran, Iran

10) Cote d’ Ivoire, Abidjan
