HCL Infosystems launched its seven-inch ME-X1 tablet priced at Rs.10490, to enter the cost competitive market of budget PC industry. The low-cost tablet is powered by Android 2.3 operating system with trendy user-interface, coupled with powerful 1 GHz Processor and 3500 mAh battery and equipped with 512 MB RAM.

Comparatively speaking, the Reliance 3G Tab, which costs Rs.12999, comes with a lower 800 MHz processor which is also based on same operating system of Android. The grey colored HCL ME-X1 comes with full HD playback and HDMI support system.

The capacitive screen of HCL X1 displays a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and is equipped with 2 MP camera on the front side of the tablet computer. The company seems to have skipped quite a few features, in its bid to match the competitive pressures from other low-cost tablets in the market such as Aakash and Beetal Magiq.
