Google has made its wireless charger available in four more countries- India, Australia, Japan and Korea. You can purchase it soon on the play store where it is displaying as ‘coming soon’ at Rs. 3299.

Google Nexus Wireless Charger

According to Play Store, it is compatible with Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (2013). The old Nexus 7 tablet will not be able to use it. Apart from these devices, any other Qi compatible device should also be able to use it, so if you have more than one phone in family besides Nexus that supports Wireless charging, there should not be any issue.

The wireless charger is a plane plate with dimensions- 60x60x12.5 mm^3 and 105 gms in weight. It is tiny and pretty portable as well.

Now, I am not a big fan of wireless charging, at least in its current form. It reduces the mobility of the phone which a wire might provide. You can answer your phone while it is charging with a wire but it is not possible with these chargers as the range is too small. However, for people who have used it and like wireless charging, it is a great opportunity to get the Nexus charger for their Nexus devices.

Google has become aggressive in the Indian market with its devices with fast launches of Nexus 5 and now the accessories have come to India as well.

In Google’s words:

No more messing with cords and plugs. With the Nexus Wireless Charger, your Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 5, or Nexus 4 simply snaps into place on the magnetic face. Featuring a clean, compact design, the Nexus Wireless Charger adheres securely to a desk, nightstand, or countertop for grab-and-go charging.
