Pinterest releases Apps for iPad & Android

The wait is over! After making the social network open to all users earlier this month, Pinterest has now released applications for Android devices and iPad. iPhone users, who already have Pinterest app with them, have been provided with some redesigning in the app.

The company revealed this through a blog post. The app is available for download through apps.pinterest.com. The company also made an app available for Kindle Fire users. Kindle users can download the app here.

Pinterest Mobile App

There has been huge demand for an Android app. “We were listening, and our custom-designed Android app makes it simple and fast to pin, so that the time you spend on Pinterest is as productive as possible”, the company said through the blog post.

Pinterest also made it clear that the apps would run on every Android phone smoothly regardless of their price, speed or screen size.

The best news comes for the iPad users. The company says that “iPad users may have the best experience yet”. iPad users have been blessed with some new features like new ways to interact with pins, ability to resume browsing after viewing a board, and even having the ability to view what their friends are pinning on the website.

Following request from iPhone users to be able to see more pins, some changes have been made to the iPhone app too. The application has been redesigned to a two column layout. This would enable the users to see more pins at a time and thus finding the pin they are looking for faster.

This step of going mobile is sure to bring in more users to the social network. Excitement is already visible in people about the apps.

The company is dealing gold! Pinterest recently moved to be the third most visited social networking website in America. According to reports, the social networking website now has 23 million registered users.

Pinterest has made some major changes in their online site too. The changed include site redesign, improved repining feature and some other updates.

Don’t own an iPad or an Android phone? Don’t worry, you can still enjoy Pinterest at m.pinterest.com.
