6

Social Media has been abuzz with twitter hashtag #pornBan – The reason being, a PIL (Pulic Interest Litigation) filed in Supreme Court which aimed at banning viewing of porn and subsequent issue of notices by Supreme Court to various ministries seeking modification of internet laws to make watching pornography a non-bailable offence.

While Social Media is abuzz with jokes, angry and sarcastic reactions, we were giving a thought to what will users do leading upto this #PornBan. Here is what they will do!

When I read Vardhana’s comment the exact thought which came to my mind is the same as Anon.
Just who do you think you are to tell people what they should do and what not.
In fact I ask that Supreme Court should accept PILs on the merit of the case. Not just coz some prejudiced jackass filed it so. I think they are mature enough to strike it down. Politicians? I doubt them. If they think it makes a difference of 50 votes they go for it.

Mind you it is only offense when you sell it. Its not offense to watch it.

    Just my two paisa :)

      Hi Altaf,

The PIL filed asks the court to make viewing pornography a non-bailable offence. Selling it was an offence as well. Now if I sit at the privacy of my own home and watch porn, they will whack me on my derriere and put me in confinement without a bail. How sad!

Should be done by Supreme Court..It is the right decision given

    1. Anon says

@ Vandhana and anyone else who feels the same way: Just who do you think you are, to tell others what they should and should not watch? There is a reason porn is the one of the most popular things on the internet – because there is a demand for it.

Prohibition does nothing but exacerbate the problem, assuming there even is one in the first place.

I am afraid at the thought of porn being banned! With nincompoops like the fellow who filed the PIL abound in our country, I am sure that some dimwit politician will pander to this stupid thought and they might even start arguing over this in the parliament. But the only saving grace is our politicians would not want to let go of porn as well. in a sexually repressed country like ours, for people like me, porn is the only solace.

Please do tell me once watching porn becomes a non-bailable offence, I will take this comment down.
