The curious case of blackmailing at Paytm has now become even more complex, and deep. After Billionaire-founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma accused his decade-old secretary Sonia Dhawan of blackmailing him, and she was arrested by police, 4 stunning twists have emerged, which baffles everyone.

Vijay Shekhar Sharma, founder of Paytm has issued statements on this case, so has Sonia Dhawan’s lawyers and families.

Twist #1: Was Sonia Dhawan Really Arrested From Office?

As per the first reports which came in, it was reported that after Vijay Shekhar Sharma became suspicious of Sonia Dhawan, he lodged an FIR, and a case was filed.

Based on that, police came into the Paytm office, and arrested Sonia who was working at that time.

Now, as per another report published in The Hindu, it was shared that Ajay Sharma, younger brother of Vijay Shekhar Sharma actually took Sonia Dhawan to the police.

As per the news-clipping shared by a Twitter user, Ajay informed Sonia about a meeting and asked her to get into the car. Once she agreed, Ajay took the car to the police station and got her arrested.

Now, this is really interesting – The exact way Sonia was arrested is still unclear.

Twist #2: Was Sonia Victim Of A Office Politics?

As per Sonia Dhawan’s lawyers, she became incredibly successful in Paytm in the last few years, and this bothered several people in the office.

To get rid of her, she was intentionally dragged into this whole crime, and this led to her arrest.

Her lawyer said, “She was definitely framed. She is saying she is innocent— she is saying she is herself not able to gather from where she has been framed,”

As per the lawyer, the ‘plot’ to involve Sonia in this blackmailing case was initiated a month earlier, after she was made VP. Dhawan’s brother-in-law Puneet also questioned the role of Ajay Shekhar Sharma in this whole incident.

However, people who are close to Paytm has rubbished this theory, as they say, there are more than 15 VPs in Paytm, and there was no way Sonia would have instilled jealousy.

One of the persons said, “Dhawan was made vice president, communications, and there was no reason for Ajay Shekhar Sharma or anyone in Paytm to be insecure about that. It is wrong to say Dhawan was No. 2 in the company next to Vijay Shekhar Sharma,”

Twist #3: Sonia Had Paytm Stocks Worth Rs 10 Crore!

Sonia’s family has claimed that when she had stocks and ESOPs worth Rs 10 crore, then why will she resort to blackmailing her boss, whom she trusted, and respected so much.

As per a relative of Sonia, with whom HT talked, Sonia joined Paytm at a monthly salary of Rs 15,000. Due to her hard work, and persistence, her salary rose to Rs 6 lakh a month. Even after she was arrested, she asked the cops to let her speak with Sharma, and clarify the issues.

That relative said, “She was someone who had big aspirations, but lived a simple life and paid ?20,000 as house rent. She had stocks worth Rs 10 crore. If she actually wanted to extort from Sharma, she would have demanded Rs 200 crore, not Rs 20 crore,”

Twist #4: Sonia Blackmailed Because Of A Rs 4 Crore Flat?

Another major twist which has emerged, is the talk of a flat which Sonia demanded, which eventually led to her arrest.

And this has been confirmed by the police.

SSP (Gautam Budh Nagar) Ajay Pal Sharma said: “Around two months ago, she asked her bosses for financial help to buy a flat. But they ignored it, which could have been a trigger.”

Besides, the suspicion of Vijay Shekhar Sharma on Sonia rose after she persuaded him to pay up the money, after he received the call.

The SSP said that Sonia convinced Vijay by saying “ki abhi pay kar dijiye aap, kya pata kaisa data ho [pay up for now, god knows what kind of data may be there].

The dots, when connected, clearly points to Sonia being the conspirator.

Yesterday, Vijay Shekhar Sharma said that he is surprised and shocked over this incident. He said, “I believe Sonia is a conduit of someone else’s bigger plan,”
