Mi TV Production In India: Mi TVs May Get Cheaper

The company currently has an affordable range of Smart TVs available in the country. Till now Xiaomi imported the televisions from China, and the taxes added to the final price. As they will now produce the Mi LED TVs in India, it will help Xiaomi to save a substantial amount on the duties.

Recently the company faced a number of price issues due to India’s falling economy. The rupee is now the worst performing currency in Asia. Xiaomi had to increase the prices for a number of products and the Mi TVs were one of them.

The Mi TVs imported from China came with 20 percent of duties, tax plus insurance and logistics fees. With that cost gone, the prices may see a 15 to 20 percent drop within a few months.

It’s still too early to anticipate, but the prices may come down, or Xiaomi probably will not increase the prices of the Mi TVs any further.
