Flipkart Eyes $20 Billion Refurbished Goods Market; Launches 2Gud.com!
As per the promise Flipkart has launched a new ecommerce platform for refurbished products.
Walmart-owned Flipkart, which is fighting it out with Amazon India and Paytm in India’s ecommerce battle, has now finally launched their much-awaited platform for refurbished goods in India.
Named as 2Gud.com, the portal has officially replaced eBay.in (which now informs us about 2Gud.com)

What Can You Get in 2Gud.com?
2Gud.com will basically offer:
- Unused products
- Returned products
- Refurbished products
In case of Refurbished products, Flipkart has assured that all the products will be “thoroughly tested and certified with warranty”, which can induce more trust for the consumers.
Interestingly, only mobile browser based website has been launched as of now. There is no app or desktop website.
Which Kind of Products Are Being Offered?
As of now, 2Gud will feature electronic gadgets such as smartphones, tablets, laptops and other accessories, but very soon, they will launch appliances segment as well.
CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy said, “With 2GUD, we have removed the trust deficit that exists in the refurbished goods market, and along with the added convenience, are offering customers yet another avenue to access quality products at the most affordable prices.”
Warranty ranging from 3-12 months would be provided on the products.
What Can You Buy Right Now?
As of now, there are some interesting offerings, which gives us an idea of the future of this ecommerce platform.
For instance, users can buy second-hand mobiles from brands like Motorola, Xiaomi and others, with price starting from Rs 2499.
When we sorted the list for smartphones, the cheapest phone available is Sony Xperia C3, costing Rs 2499. For the same price, one can also purchase LG A6000 smartphone.
The highest price is of Samsung Galaxy A8, which costs Rs 14,399.
In the laptop section, the cheapest offering is Micromax Canvas for Rs 10,199 and the most expensive laptop is Acer Predator Helios costing Rs 76,499.
eBay Hangover?
When Flipkart had announced the closure of eBay last month, Krishnamurthy had informed that the new platform for refurbished products will be built on “learnings from eBay.in.”
Besides, Flipkart aims to counter Quikr and Olx with their new platform, which is targeting the massive refurbished market in India.
As per reports, market for refurbished goods will cross $20 billion in the next 6 years, and with 2Gud.com, Flipkart has perfectly positioned themselves to grab a bigger pie.
