Whatsapp Will Soon End Support For These Devices

The most popular social messaging platform recently rolled out its maiden in-app Payments services to the public in India. WhatsApp released its devices support page last week, and as per the update, the Facebook-owned company has released a list of devices which will no longer support WhatsApp by the end of 2018.

As per the latest release, the company will not be able to deliver the kind of capabilities it needs to expand its app’s features in the future. So, soon by the end of this year, the social messaging platform will pull off its support from these devices.

WhatsApp Will Stop Working On These Phones – Full List

The full list of devices which will lose WhatsApp support by the end of 2018.

Nokia Platform

List of Nokia phones that will lose WhatsApp this year.

  1. Nokia Symbian S40 Series

WhatsApp will stop working on all all the devices running on Nokia S40 or Symbian 40 platform by the end of this year.

  1. Nokia Asha series

All the Nokia Asha series smartphones will lose out on WhatsApp soon after the latest update.

  1. No Re-Verification

Some of he old Nokia devices will not allow the users on WhatsApp to create new accounts or to re-verify the existing accounts.

  1. Nokia Symbian S60 Series

Nokia Symbian S60 is another platform that no longer supports the application.

Android Platform

List of Android phones that will lose WhatsApp this year.

  1. Android 2.1 (Eclair) and Android 2.2 (Froyo)

The messaging platform has alre stopped updates for all the Android Smartphones running on the older versions of Android 2.1 (Eclair) and Android 2.2 (Froyo).

  1. Two More Years For Android Gingerbread

Users of the older Android version of 2.3.7, Android Gingerbread will only get WhatsApp updates for next two more years only.

iOS Platform

Among the iPhones, WhatsApp will stop supporting devices like iPhone 3GS. It will also stop supporting devices running on iOS 6.


Blackberry OS

List of Blackberry that will lose WhatsApp this year.

  1. Blackberry Smartphones –  Phones running on BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10 and other older platforms of Blackberry will lost WhatsApp support as well.
  2. BlackBerry 10 – Devices which are running the BlackBerry 10 has got a grace period of two weeks from WhatsApp in January early this year.


Windows Platform

Windows smartphones running the Windows Phone 8.0 version will stop getting WhatsApp updates from this year. It will stop supporting smartphone running Windows Phone 7 and lower.


Other Platforms

Users using other platforms other than Android, iOS, Windows or BlackBerry will no more be able to transfer their chat history to the newer devices.

  1. There will no option to transfer any chat history between platforms or to any new platform.
  2. Will not get the latest updates.
  3. Chat history can be attached to an email and can be transferred through mail.
