On one hand, IIT-Kanpur, India’s premier engineering institution has launched a massive campaign to build India’s first flying car; India’s first cruise service has been launched between Mumbai and Goa.

India’s 1st Flying Cars @ IIT-Kanpur!
VTOL Aviation India Pvt Ltd has commissioned IIT-Kanpur to develop India’s first flying cars, which is technically called as vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) craft.
VTOL Aviation India Pvt Ltd and IIT-Kanpur have signed a MoU worth Rs 15 crore for this task.
If developed, then such VTOL can be used as flying taxis as well.
Ajoy Ghosh, head of Aerospace Engineering and the Flight Lab at IIT Kanpur said,
“We will establish proof of concept and identify the key technology areas. There will be over a 100 students working on this in the coming years..”
VTOL Craft will have the capability to take-off vertically, hover, and then land vertically as well. While Russia has their VTOL named Yak-38, which was stopped in the 1980s, US has V-22 Osprey and Harrier Jump Jet, both of which have powered lift and rotary action.
As of now, IIT Kanpur’s VTOL shall be deployed with the Military, but soon, they can be used as flying taxis as well. As per some analysts, such VTOL can be an effective means to decongest cities, jammed with traffic.
India’s 1st Cruise Is Now Live!
Meanwhile, if the traffic of cities is bothering you, then choose the sea route.
India’s first cruise service has received a green signal from Govt., and now, you can cruise between Mumbai and Goa.
Rs 7000 is the charge for one person.
This new cruise service is a joint venture between Mumbai Port Trust and Angriya Sea Eagle Pvt Ltd. The first trail run ended successfully when the cruise reached Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) in Goa from Mumbai.
This cruise started at 5.30 PM from Mumbai and reached Goa at 10 AM.
During monsoon season, the ship would be parked and can be booked for weddings and parties. Full-fledged operations are expected to start from October onwards.
