Mega Summer Sales Lined Up By Amazon & Flipkart – The Summer Just Got Hotter!

As Flipkart is all set to tie-up with Walmart, it is getting ready to take its e-commerce war with Amazon India to the next level. Owner Jeff Bezos recently wrote in his annual stakeholder letter that India is the fastest growing marketplace for Amazon, and Flipkart won’t be taking it lightly.

The summer mega sales are ready, and both Flipkart and Amazon will go head to head in the month of May. It is going to be a treat for the consumers as more competition means cheaper prices and heavy discounts. The e-commerce rivals are gearing up for a massive sales season starting May with big discounts and cashbacks.

Mega Summer Sales

Flipkart and Walmart are almost ready to get together to fight it out against their mighty rival, Amazon. Amazon is a direct competition for Flipkart in India and for Walmart internationally. On the other hand, Amazon India has said that they are ready for the challenge.

As per reports, both the e-commerce companies have already started to stock up for the upcoming sales and have purchased around 70-80 percent of their typical inventory for any general sales. This indicates the magnitude of the summer sales this year.

The reports also suggest that Flipkart and Amazon have stocked up as much as they do for their annual Diwali sales, which are the biggest of the year.

Heavy Discounts On Smartphones, Televisions & More!

As both the companies look to cash in the most with the summer sale, you can expect heavy discounts on a wide range of products. The e-commerce majors will offer discounts on smartphones, televisions, electronics, apparel, daily needs, home decor and more.

As per the industry source, the two biggest online marketplaces from India have already negotiated with its wholesale arms and sellers for lower prices with companies. Flipkart and Amazon in return have promised for higher sourcing of inventory and sales.

Not only apparel or smartphones, Amazon is expected to offer additional 10 to 20 percent discount in FMCG categories as well. The company is already ramping up its recently launched groceries arm Amazon Now, and the sales may help to widen its reach.

No-Cost EMI & Cashbacks

Smartphones and consumer electronics sold online have a contribution of over 60 percent in all the sales made online in India. Both the marketplaces will also be offering benefits like extra cashback with selected debit and credit cards with no-cost EMI options.

The upcoming mega summer sale from Flipkart has been dubbed as a smaller version Flipkart’s flagship Festive Big Billion Days sale. The sale will have big discounts on summer products like refrigerators, air coolers, air conditioners and other electronic items like televisions, smartphones and other categories.

The summer sale from both the e-commerce companies will be held at about the same time in May. Last year similarly Amazon and Flipkart held a mega sales in May.

The dates have not been not announced yet, but the Flipkart Summer sale may take place around May 11 to May 14. Similarly, Amazon India will hold its sale before or after Flipkart, or may be during the same period.
