Airtel Launches New Rs 499 Plan

The biggest annual cricketing extravaganza in the country is here now. All the telcos are fighting it out to offer loads of data with free streaming of live IPL matches. The Indian Premier League 2018 edition has already started and will continue till May 27.

Reliance Jio has already announced a special IPL pack for 51 days at Rs 251/- with 2GB high-speed 4G data per day (unlimited data at 64 kbps post completion of FUP limit) so that Jio users can stream full live IPL matches. The IPL pack offers a total of 102GB 4G data for the whole season.

The company is also giving away free Jio Cricket Gold Pass with special IPL Rs 251/- pack which gives free access to streaming of all live matches and you can play live games to win special prizes.

Airtel’s New Rs 499 Plan

To join the live streaming bandwagon, Airtel has now launched an all-new prepaid plan of Rs 499/- to offer 2GB high-speed data per day. The plan offers a total of 164GB high-speed 4G data for a period of 82 days. Along with the data, the Rs 499/- plan also offers free unlimited calls (local and STD) with national roaming and 100 free SMS per day.

There is unlimited voice calls on the Rs. 499 plan and no daily or weekly FUP limit.

Jio Rs 498/- Plan Vs Airtel Rs 499/- Plan

Airtel’s new plan will compete with Jio’s 2GB daily pack of Rs. 498 plan. Jio has a similar plan which offers 2GB high-speed 4G data per day for a period of 91 days at Rs 498/- with unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day.

In comparison, Airtel offers all the same benefits, but only for 82 days. The Jio Rs 498/- plan offers a total of 182GB 4G data compared to Airtel’s 164GB data benefit.

Airtel Launches New 300 Mbps Home Broadband Plan

Apart from a new data plan for IPL, Airtel has also launched an all-new Home broadband plan. The new plan will offer blazing fast speeds of up to 300 Mbps over WiFi. The new plans will come under Airtel’s FTTH (Fiber-To-the-Home) plans.

The Airtel service earlier used to offer plans with speeds up to 100 Mbps, but the new plans will now offer three times more speed at 300 Mbps. The new FTTH broadband plans start at Rs 2,199/- per month and offer 1200GB of ultra-high-speed data.

The new FTTH plan also includes free unlimited calls (STD and Local) via Airtel landline.

Data can also be rolled over each month with a limit up to 1000 GB. The plan also offers free subscription to Wynk Music, Airtel TV and free one year Amazon Prime membership. The new plan is currently live in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Noida, Gurgaon and Hyderabad, and soon will roll out to other Airtel broadband cities as well.

    Airtel does not provide FTTH connections. What you are referring to FTTH connection is actually VDSL2 connection.
