Airtel have launched their latest tariff plan after Jio made changes to their Rs. 149 plan. Airtel will now offer a Rs. 199 plan which is at at-par with Jio’s Rs. 149 plan offerings. The Rs. 199 will be valid for existing Airtel customers, though not in all its circles. A new Rs. 178 plan has been introduced for new customers.

Airtel Rs. 199 Plan

The new Rs. 199 plan from Airtel will offer unlimited voice calls, local and STD, along with 1GB of 4G/3G/2G data and for a period of 28 days. The plan might not be applicable to some existing customers.

Jio Rs. 149 Plan vs. Airtel Rs. 199 Plan

Some changes were recently made to the The Jio Rs. 149 plan, and the updated plan will now offer 2GB of 4G data (unlimited data at 64 kbps post completion) and unlimited voice calls for 28 days (with no limits). In contrast, Airtel’s Rs. 199 plan will offer unlimited voice calls (both local and STD) and 1GB of 4G/3G/2G data (chargeable post completion) for a period of 28 days, but with restrictions on voice calls to 300 minutes per day and 1200 minutes per week (Airtel’s website has marked the plan with some terms and conditions).

Changes In Jio Rs. 149 Plan

Jio have made some changes to their Rs. 149 plan. Now Jio will offer 2GB of 4G data, unlimited voice calls, 300 SMS and free access to Jio’s premium apps. After exhaustion of the 2GB limit, Jio will now offer unlimited internet at a speed of 64 kbps, whereas there was no free data after FUP limit before.

Airtel’s New Prepaid Plans

Airtel has launched a bunch of new prepaid packs that will provide unlimited voice and data benefits.

Rs. 149 Plan

The Rs. 149 will offer unlimited Airtel to Airtel calls, along with of 2GB of 4G data, which will be valid of a period of 28 days. Only Airtel customers using a 4G handset can avail the benefits of the new Rs. 149 plan.

Rs. 199 Plan

The new Rs. 199 plan will offer unlimited voice calls, local and STD, and 1GB of 4G/3G/2G data, for a period of 28 days. This plan might not be applicable only in select circles.

  • Calls: Unlimited Local and STD Voice Calls
  • Validity: 28 days

Rs. 349 Plan

The Rs. 349/- recharge pack from Airtel will include 28 GB of data, daily limit of 1GB, with unlimited local and STD voice calls. According to their website, there will be no free SMS in this plan. The 28GB of mobile data is available on all handsets.

Rs. 399 Plan

The new Rs. 399/- plan will offer unlimited local and STD voice calls, with 70 GB of mobile data (daily limit of 1GB) which will be valid for a period of 70 days. As per Airtel’s website, customers with 4G handset will be offered the 70 GB data with 70 days validity.

Rs. 999 Plan

In the Rs. 999 plan, Airtel is offering a massive 4GB of 3G/4G data per day. The offer will be valid for a period of 28 days i.e 112GB of total data. Plus, the customer will get unlimited local and STD voice calls.

    I don’t understand how writer of this post is comparing 1 GB / day with 1 GB / 28 days. This does not make any sense. Comparison can be possible when both provides same data and calls per day.

      No it’s not 1GB per day. It’s Jio’s 2GB a month vs Airtel’s 1GB a month. Kindly read the para carefully. You will get the other details of the respective plans there. Thank you!
