It’s a bit over a month since LG launched their Full Vision display smartphone, the LG Q6 Plus in the country. Now, the South Korean giant has brought in a higher variant of the LG Q6.
So is there anything new to look out for?
LG Q6 Plus has been priced at Rs. 17,990/-. Much like the Q6, the LG Q6 Plus sports the unusual 18:9 aspect ratio, Full Vision display. Unlike LG Q6, which was an Amazon India exclusive, the new LG Q6 Plus will be available offline across the country.
The company has promised a one-time free screen replacement within a period of 6 months.
LG Q6 Plus: Features And Specifications
The new LG Q6 Plus gets 4GB RAM instead of the earlier 3GB on the standard LG Q6.
Design And Build
The new LG Q6 Plus sports the same design as the LG Q6. It is made of 7000-series aluminum with a shock-resistant build. But, it misses out on the G6’s signature ‘built like a tank’ quality. It doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner, but the device has a special face unlocking recognition feature instead.
It will come with a 5.5” Full HD, Full Vision display with a display resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of 442 ppi. It sports a respectable 80% screen-to-body ratio. The company has promised a one-time free screen replacement for the Q6 Plus within a period of 6 months.
The device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor with Adreno 505 GPU coupled with 4GB of RAM.
LG Q6 Plus will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with LG’s UX 6.0 software on top. It allows users to run apps in two perfectly square windows, side by side on the screen. The software has several other special features like allowing taking a picture while simultaneously reviewing it in the other half of the screen.
LG Q6 Plus will come with 64GB of onboard storage, unlike the 32GB of the lower 3GB variant.
The device packs in a single 13 megapixel shooter on the back alongside a 5 megapixel shooter up front with a 100 degree ‘wide’ field of view.
Sim Support And Connectivity
It supports dual SIM (nano + nano) and supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, FM Radio and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The LG Q6 Plus houses a 3000mAh battery, which is rated to give a one-day backup on a single charge.
Price And Variants
It has been priced at Rs. 17,990/- in the country. The smartphone will go on sale in retail outlets from Wednesday in Astro Black and Ice Platinum colour options.
The handset will be available via both, offline and online channels.

Is LG Q6 Plus Good Enough?
LG Q6 Plus has been designed for the mid-level segment. But it misses out a lot of features unlike other handsets at this price point. On the other hand LG Q6 itself hasn’t seen much success in the Indian market. The new Q6 Plus itself doesn’t offer anything more than better RAM.
It will be interesting to see how well LG Q6 Plus performs in the Indian market.
