LG Q6 Plus Launched! Does It Have Enough To Entice You?

It’s a bit over a month since LG launched their Full Vision display smartphone, the LG Q6 Plus in the country. Now, the South Korean giant has brought in a higher variant of the LG Q6.

So is there anything new to look out for?

LG Q6 Plus has been priced at Rs. 17,990/-. Much like the Q6, the LG Q6 Plus sports the unusual 18:9 aspect ratio, Full Vision display. Unlike LG Q6, which was an Amazon India exclusive, the new LG Q6 Plus will be available offline across the country.

The company has promised a one-time free screen replacement within a period of 6 months.

It doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner, but the device has a special face unlocking recognition feature instead.

Software

LG Q6 Plus will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with LG’s UX 6.0 software on top. It allows users to run apps in two perfectly square windows, side by side on the screen. The software has several other special features like allowing taking a picture while simultaneously reviewing it in the other half of the screen.

Internal Storage

LG Q6 Plus will come with 64GB of onboard storage, unlike the 32GB of the lower 3GB variant.

Camera

The device packs in a single 13 megapixel shooter on the back alongside a 5 megapixel shooter up front with a 100 degree ‘wide’ field of view.

Sim Support And Connectivity

It supports dual SIM (nano + nano) and supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, FM Radio and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Battery

The LG Q6 Plus houses a 3000mAh battery, which is rated to give a one-day backup on a single charge.

Price And Variants

It has been priced at Rs. 17,990/- in the country. The smartphone will go on sale in retail outlets from Wednesday in Astro Black and Ice Platinum colour options.

Is LG Q6 Plus Good Enough?

LG Q6 Plus has been designed for the mid-level segment. But it misses out a lot of features unlike other handsets at this price point. On the other hand LG Q6 itself hasn’t seen much success in the Indian market. The new Q6 Plus itself doesn’t offer anything more than better RAM.

It will be interesting to see how well LG Q6 Plus performs in the Indian market.
