Xiaomi Mi A1 Leaks All Over The Internet – Possible India Launch Tomorrow

Xiaomi Mi A1

After the Mi 5X rumour, the Xiaomi-Google collaboration for an Android One smartphone seems to be taking shape. Xiaomi probably will launch the Xiaomi Mi A1 tomorrow at New Delhi.

Xiaomi Mi A1 is basically an Android One version of the Mi 5X, which will run stock Android. It will support Google’s Android One Initiative, which primarily targets first time smartphone users to offer Android OS at an affordable range in the emerging markets. Xiaomi Mi A1 has been spotted on both Geekbench and China’s social media networking site Weibo.

Based on the leaked images, Xiaomi Mi A1 will sport an edge to edge display with very narrow bezels. The fingerprint scanner is not on the front side, and it has an overall sleek design. The listing on Geekbench shows an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 clocked at 2.0 GHz, running Android Nougat 7.1.2 out of the box.

Sadly, the latest rumors do not provide any much of the detail other than the processor and software, with a little glimpse into the design of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi A1.

The past reports have suggested that Xiaomi Mi A1 will be a toned-down version of Mi 5X, and leaked images of Mi A1 on Weibo too sports a very similar design to Mi 5X. The upcoming Xiaomi Mi A1 could feature a 5.5 inch full HD display with a curved glass on top.

Under the hood, it will carry the dependable Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset for an enhanced performance. If Xiaomi Mi A1 or Xiaomi A1 get a launch tomorrow, it is going to be the first Android One smartphone to carry a dual camera setup (Xiaomi has already confirmed a dual flagship camera setup).
Under the Android One Initiative, the smartphones will be Google exclusive and will lie within the line of affordable range. Basically it will be entry level smartphones carrying stock Android. Google has tried their hand with the Android One in India with the local manufacturers, but it failed miserably. Taking into account, the rapid growth of Xiaomi in India may have made sense for Google to collaborate with Xiaomi for Android One smartphones in India.

At Google I/O 2017, Google announced their ‘Android Go’ initiative for India, Brazil and other emerging markets around the world. Under the initiative, they are working on to tone down the Android OS, so that it can work on the entry level smartphones which will consume lesser data and will support multiple languages.

While Android One looks into developing affordable entry level hardware, the Android Go attempts to improve the experience on the affordable smartphones. It will optimize apps into their lite versions for a better and seamless experience.

Xiaomi’s New Dual Camera Will Be Flipkart Exclusive

Flipkart has confirmed that the upcoming Xiaomi smartphone (or smartphones) will be sold exclusively in India via their portal.

From the Flagship-Dual-Camera teaser to the 5X Rumour to the New-Series of smartphones teaser, Xiaomi has turned the September 5 launch into a mystery. Now the Xiaomi Mi A1 rumour has added more to the story, and seems most likely possible that Xiaomi A1 is going to launch tomorrow.

Google was earlier rumoured to be developing an Android One smartphone with the Chinese tech giant Xiaomi. The leaked images do fit in perfectly with the current rumours, for the launch tomorrow.

Coming to the Xiaomi Launch Event, Xiaomi Mi A1 stays firmly in the front seat.

It is going to be a long wait till tomorrow!
