Lenovo K8 Note Launched in India – Price, Features, Specs and More

Lenovo has finally launched their much anticipated mid-range flagship device in India. The successor to the K6 Note, the latest K8 Note has an array of new features to look out for.

Starting with a new design, dual camera and a better hardware, K8 Note is a complete package at this price. The Lenovo K8 Note will be offered in two storage variants – 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB. During the launch, the Chinese tech giant revealed, that since the launch of the first Lenovo K Series phones in the country, there have been 8.5 million K Series users in India.

Lenovo K8 Note – Features and Specifications

Being the first phone to ditch the Vibe Pure UI, it is also the first Lenovo device to carry stock Android on board. It will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.

Design and Build

Lenovo K8 Note is built out of 5000-series aluminium. K8 Note is splash resistant with a water-repellent nano coating on the out. It has a fingerprint sensor on the back, with Dolby Atmos support for enhanced audio performance. The device also sports a dedicated Music Key which can be reprogrammed to any other function.

Display

Lenovo K8 Note will sport a 5.5 inch Full HD (1080p) IPS display with a 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top.

Hardware

The smartphone will be powered by a MediaTek Helio X23 deca-core chipset. Built on a 20mn process, it features four Cortex A53 cores clocking at 1.4GHz, four Cortex A53 cores clocking at 1.8GHz and two high-power Cortex A72 cores clocking at 2.3GHz. It has two variants, sporting 3GB and 4GB RAM respectively.

Software

The device will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. It is the first device from Lenovo to ship without the Vibe Pure UI, opting to go with vanilla Android.

Storage and Sim Support

The device will support two SIMs. The 3GB RAM variant will have 32GB storage on board and the 4GB RAM variant will have 64GB storage on board. The storage can further be expanded upto 128 GB with a dedicated external memory card  slot on both the variants.

Camera

The major USP of the Lenovo K8 Note is the dual rear camera. The device has a 13 megapixel sensor accompanied by 5 megapixel depth sensor for better depth of field Bokeh shots. The rear shooter supports a dual LED flash. On front, there’s a 13 megapixel selfie-shooter, with an LED flash.

Connectivity

The device will supports 4G LTE with VoLTE, dual bands (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v4. It has a Micro USB port with 3.5mm audio jack.

Battery

The device will be powered by a 4000 mAh non removable battery. It supports rapid charging, and the sales package will include a 15W rapid charger. This will be the first Lenovo smartphone to ship with a rapid charger. The battery is rated to deliver up to 24.7 hours of talk time with 378 hours of standby.

Colour Variants

It is available in two colour variants, Fine Gold and Venom Black.

Price and Availability

The 3GB+32GB variant will cost Rs. 12,999 and the 4GB+64GB variant is priced at Rs. 13,999. It will be available exclusively on Amazon India. Sales will start from 12pm on August 18th and will be bundled with exclusive launch offers.

Verdict and Alternatives

With its current price, Lenovo K8 Note will take heavyweights like Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Honor 6X and Coolpad Cool 1. Though, with those set of specs and features on board, Lenovo have on their hands an affordable premium device.
