Coolpad has launched their much anticipated Note 5 Lite C today in the country. The company has been teasing the device for a quite some time on their social media handles.

With the launch of Note 5 Lite C, Coolpad has opened up a new extension for their products in the country. Coolpad Note 5 Lite C is going to be the first smartphone from the Chinese tech firm to go exclusively offline.

Offline Availability

The Note 5 Lite C sales will go live from Saturday, August 5 2017. The latest handset from Coolpad will be available in 3,000 multi-brand stores across eight states, which include Delhi NCR, Haryana, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra.

Coolpad will be continuing its offline extension by launching four more exclusive devices offline, across 18 states by the end of next year.

Coolpad Note 5 Lite C: Features and Specifications

Being the first offline exclusive Coolpad phone, Note 5 Lite C is also going to be the first Coolpad to run Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box with a Qualcomm Processor on board.

  1. Design and Build – The device has a metallic finish with a fingerprint scanner on the back. There is no home button, but there are capacitive keys for navigation. The device weighs 139 grams and has dimensions measuring at 142.4 x 70.4 x 7.95mm.
  2. Display – The device sports a 5-inch High Definition display (1280×720 pixels) with a 294 PPI pixel density, and a 2.5D glass on top.
  3. Hardware – The device is powered by a 1.1GHz Snapdragon 210 quad core processor. For graphics, it will feature an Adreno 304 graphics processor coupled with 2GB of RAM.
  4. Software – The device will run Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. It is also the first device from Coolpad to come with Android 7.1 Nougat.
  5. Storage and Sim Support – The device will support two SIMs. It will get 16GB of on-board storage which can further be expanded up to 64 GB via an external memory card.
  6. Camera – The device will sport an 8 megapixel rear shooter with autofocus, f/2.4 aperture and inbuilt flash. On the front, it has a 5 megapixel shooter with f/2.4 aperture.
  7. Connectivity – The device supports 4G LTE with VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4 and has all sensors including proximity sensor, light sensor and accelerometer.
  8. Battery – Coolpad Note 5 Lite C packs in a 2500mAh battery which is rated to offer a standby time of 240 hours.
  9. Variants – It is available in two colour variants, Grey and Gold.
  10. Price and Availability – The smartphone has been priced at Rs. 7,777 and will be available offline from 5th August.

Verdict and Alternatives

At its price of Rs. 7,777/-, Coolpad Note 5 Lite C will compete directly with Xiaomi Redmi 4, Moto C Plus and the newly launched YU Yunique 2.

With its set of specs and features, the Coolpad Note 5 Lite C seems a bit overpriced when compared to its competitors.
