Amazon Bringing Temporary Physical Outlets To Support Their Biggest Fashion Sale!

Amazon India’s Fashion Wardrobe Refresh Sale is going to be held from 23rd June to 25th June and the company is betting big this time with a range of exciting offers. Amazon even unveiled its own private label ‘Symbol’ last year to offer western wear.

To further popularise its fashion sale and to engage its customers more, Amazon India will be opening 12 pop-up shops across India. These outlets will be located in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru. This sale is also timed very well to sell as many clothes before GST becomes applicable.

Amazon India has tied up with HDFC bank to offer 10% cashback on credit cards, an extra 20% cashback through Amazon Pay and Rs. 1000 Urban Ladder voucher on every purchase. There will also be 50-80% flat discounts on a lot of items, especially for prime members.

“We have tied up with the biggest tech parks in the country and these will act as activation and promotion for our sale. For our young consumers at these parks, this will be a good opportunity to step out and experience fashion at physical outlets,” Arun Sirdeshmukh, head of Amazon’s fashion business, told The Times of India.

Rival Flipkart leads the fashion segment and recently launched its own DIvastri private label. Amazon plans to take on Flipkart by opening these temporary stores where people will be able to get a look and feel of its fashion products.

Through these, Amazon also hopes that it is able to bring customers online, especially those who refrained from ordering online because of the fear of online shopping. These stores will also be opened in large tech parks and strategic locations keeping in mind the urban population.

It is not clear whether you will be allowed to purchase at these stores before the sale, but at least you can go and try out clothes that you would want to pick up during the sale. This gives an excellent opportunity to get your favourite products in your cart before they go out of stock.

With the weekend coming closer, Amazon India is trying to take on Flipkart through these tactics, and it might just succeed if it is able to provide good discounts and service to customers. Flipkart Fashion accounts for 60% of its online sales, which means that Amazon India will have to really invest heavily to beat that figure.
