Idea SIM Card upgradation

Recently Airtel had revamped its 1 GB/day plan with a reduced validity of just 56 days instead of 70 days earlier. This plan offers unlimited voice calls to any network in the country at just Rs. 399. Now, Idea Cellular and Reliance Communications have come up with their own offerings to combat this Airtel tariff plan.

Idea Offers 1.5 GB/Day, and 3000 Minutes For 70 Days @ Rs. 497

This plan offers 1.5 GB per day at just Rs. 497 along with unlimited on-net calling (Idea-Idea calls), and 3000 minutes to other networks for a period of 70 days. Post the free voice minutes, the subscribers will be charged at regular voice tariff rates.

Talking about the availability, this plan is also a segmented offering. It will be available only to those who receive an SMS about the same from Idea, or via the My Idea app.

RCom Launches FRC148 Offering 70 GB 4G For 70 Days

Now, while Airtel and Idea are offering these plans to almost everyone, RCom has chosen to offer this plan at Rs. 148 only to new subscribers via FRC (First Recharge Coupon) from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana telecom circle from today i.e. 1 May 2017.

Unlike similar plans from the leading telecom operators, this plan will not offer unlimited calling of any kind neither on-net nor off-net. Instead, the subscribers will get Rs. 50 worth of talk time valid throughout the plan validity. Post the consumption of free talk time, the subscribers will be able to make local/STD calls at just 25p/minute. The free data usage will be restricted to 1 GB/day.

RCom To Launch Other Affordable 1 GB/Day Plans As FRC54 And FRC61

Reliance Communications will also launch FRC54 and FRC61 offering 1 GB 4G per day for 28 days each. The only difference between these plans will be the voice calling rates. One plan bills you on minutes of usage while the other will measure your calls on a per second basis.

On recharging with FRC54 the subscribers will get on-net calls (Reliance- Reliance) at 10p/min and other local/STD calls at 25p/min.

On the other hand, the FRC61 will offer Reliance to Reliance calls at 1p/6sec and other local/STD calls at 1p/2sec.

What Is Airtel Offering?

Airtel is also offering similar benefits to its existing subscribers via different tariff plans which are as under:

Rs. 244 Plan

This plan offers 1 GB 4G data per day (500 MB night + 500 MB day data), unlimited on-net calls, and is valid for 56 days.

Rs. 399 Plan

This plan also offers 1 GB/day divided into night and day data, unlimited voice calls to any network, and carries a validity of 56 days.

Rs. 499 Plan

This plan comes with 1.25 GB/day bundled with unlimited voice calls to any network in the country and is valid for 56 days.

Rs. 549 Plan

The benefits under this plan are unlimited voice calls to any network, 1.5 GB data/day, and are valid for 56 days.

It is worth noting that no operator provides as many benefits as Jio 4G under its Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan Offer providing 1 GB 4G/day for 84 days at Rs. 309. The new tariff plan from Idea priced at Rs. 497 is the best non-Jio plan that one can find in the market. However, one must note that this plan is suited more to heavy data users than voice callers as it offers limited free voice minutes (3000 mins) for 70 days.
