Jio Prime Subscriber Base Has Crossed 45 Million

Yesterday, social media and mainstream media was abuzz with the news that Jio Prime has received ‘poor response’ from their existing users.

As per a story filed by news channel ET Now, it was stated that only 13% of existing Jio users have opted for Prime membership, which costs Rs 99 for a year, and monthly recharge of Rs 149 or Rs 303, depending on the plan.

As per their report, only 16 million Jio customers have opted for Prime till now. Based on the available information, Jio added 20 million new customers in the last 4 weeks, which makes total of 120 million Jio users as of now.

Hence, as per ET Now, 16 million out of 120 million or 13% of all Jio users have opted for Prime membership as on March 28th, 2017.

We have received an exclusive and as per information shared with us by anonymous sources who are privy of this information, these numbers are completely false.

Response For Prime Is Unprecedented

According to our sources around 45-50 million existing Jio users have subscribed for Jio Prime till date, which is 37% to 42% of all Jio users. Besides, Jio has claimed that their cashback offer for using Jio Money is a big hit as well, and by the time March ends, they are expecting another 10-15 million new Prime users.

Hence, overall, one can expect Jio to have around 50-60 million Prime subscribers, by March 31st, which is the last day of free Jio usage.

And this translates to 45-50% conversion of free Jio users into prime members, which is quite a feat.

Our sources have added, “People who have speculated 16 million to 20 million subscribers should hold on to their horses till any official statement released.”

More Offers For Prime Users

Jio’s cashback offer on using Jio Money for Prime makes it free: Users can get Rs 50 cashback for recharging their Jio number with any amount which is more than Rs 50. Hence, with two recharges of Rs 99 and Rs 303 (or Rs 149), the cost of Jio Prime (Rs 99) would become free.

Besides, Freecharge also launched a new offer wherein their users can get a BookMyShow voucher for recharging their Jio number via Freecharge.

Jio is confident that these offers will further shoot up their Prime numbers.

Overall, a 50% conversion rate of free into paid users for a new telecom company is unheard of. It clearly means that people are ready to pay for a service, which solves their telecom problems.

And it seems Jio is going to make history here.
