In a somewhat expected move, Reliance Jio has partnered with Flipkart to offer its LYF branded 4G VoLTE smartphones. Flipkart would exclusively sell LYF Wind 3 and LYF Flame 8 smartphone.
It is worth noting that we are still a days if not weeks away from Jio’s commercial launch of its 4G services, but the company is leaving no stone unturned to gain more market share.
As of now, Jio has been doing so bundling its LYF smartphones with Jio Preview Offer. Under this offer, the customers would get free and unlimited access to Jio 4G services for 90 days including 4G data and premium Jio services related to media streaming, cloud storage, Live TV, etc.
As of now, neither of the phones is available and have ‘Coming Soon’ status. More details about these phones are described in the coming sections.
LYF Flame 8
Flame 8 is priced at Rs. 4,199 and offer a good enough hardware for its price tag especially considering the fact that it offers unlimited 4G internet for 90 days too.
The phone is powered by the old Snapdragon 210 SoC, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB ROM, Android Lollipop, and a 2000 mAh battery. Flame 8 also sports a 5 MP front camera along with an 8 MP rear camera.

LYF Wind 3 is a premium phone than the Flame 8 and bears a price tag of Rs. 6,999. The phone runs on Snapdragon 410 64-bit SoC, 2 GB RAM, 2920 mAh battery, Android Lollipop, and bears a 5.5-inch IPS HD display with Asahi glass protection.
The phone also packs 8 MP and 2 MP camera combo for taking care of your photography needs.

Flipkart is going to push these LYF smartphones like crazy as it has already placed an order of close to a million of these phones!
“We hear that Flipkart is betting really big on LYF Wind 3 and Flame 8 and they will be importing as many as 980,000 units of these two phones via Hong Kong. So expect some marketing push and/or deals on these two phones in the coming days,” reports Raju PP.
This is just the beginning of how the world would change post the launch of Jio 4G. So far Reliance Jio has been able to sell so many 4G VoLTE phones mainly due to its unlimited data offering which we don’t think would be available a quarter after its commercial launch.
