1

A while back, very few knew about the existence of a smartphone brand, Coolpad. Fast forward to the present, and most of the smartphone enthusiasts have heard of Coolpad. It is not that every other company that offers phones at a competitive price becomes extremely popular. There are quite a few smartphone players out there who are struggling to make a name for themselves.

So what made Coolpad what it is today?

If you are thinking of the affordability aspect of its pricing strategy then you are on the right track, but there is much more to Coolpad than just its affordable smartphone line-up. Coolpad stuck to the basics and managed to become a popular brand in the Indian smartphone market. It followed what sounds obvious to many but it did what others failed to execute properly.

As of now Coolpad offers a range of products available via Amazon including Coolpad Note 3 Plus, Coolpad Note 3, Coolpad Note 3 Lite, Coolpad Max, and Coolpad VR 1x.

Coolpad’s Success Mantras

Coolpad was earlier selling phones in partnership with Reliance Communications before launching phones under its own brand name in October 2015. The company used this period for studying the local customers and understanding the need of the Indian smartphone market. Coolpad followed these 2 basic mantras for getting successful in the Indian smartphone market:

Quality Products At Competitive Pricing

Coolpad planned its product line very carefully. Like we all know that most of the first-time Android users wouldn’t want to spend too much on their first phone, Coolpad is currently offering 3 smartphone under the price tag of Rs. 9,000.

Now these specifications look all good on paper, but it is a completely different story to make them popular among the masses. Coolpad, was able to able to market and promote its phones so well that it sold 80,000 units of Coolpad Note 3 Lite in just 41 seconds over 3 flash sales.

Back in October 2015, when the company launched its first flash sale in India, it received over 5 lakh registrations to buy Coolpad Note 3 in just two days, and sold over 15,000 phones in under 5 minutes on the day of sale.

Customer Satisfaction

It is somewhat easy to offer phones with better hardware specifications, but it is extremely difficult to have satisfied customers. Many Chinese companies offer sub-standard hardware which looks good on paper, but can’t deliver in real-life. This leads to disgruntled customers and once is customer is dissatisfied he will tell 10 more people about your poor product or service.

Coolpad managed to satisfy its customers so well that Coolpad Note 3 emerged as the best-selling smartphone on Amazon India. The company also revealed that Note 3 was ranked No. 1 in customer satisfaction parameter, according to feedback and product reviews on Amazon.in.

It was ‘Coolpad Note 3’ that marked a new era in the history of Coolpad starting October 2015. Since then the company has scaled new heights and has never looked back.
