UberPitch

Uber, the global taxi booking app which has disrupted the industry all over the world with their unique ideas and offerings, has once again created ripples across the Indian entrepreneurial scene.

Their newest offer is UberPitch, wherein entrepreneurs can pitch their startup ideas to a VC and mentor inside an Uber cab! This 15 minute ride would be completely free of cost. To roll out this special offer, Uber has tied up with TVF Pitchers, the incredibly popular comedy-drama TV series created for the entrepreneurial community.

Arun Prabhudesai, founder and Editor in Chief of Trak.in has been roped in as a mentor for UberPitch program in Pune. Hence, if you are in Pune, and decide to use this special Uber initiative, then Arun can be the mentor you will encounter inside the cab.

How Will It Work?

The process is quite simple. Between 12 PM to 4PM, users need to fire up their Uber app, and slide to the ‘UberPitch’ view. Depending on the location, the nearest available cab will arrive with a VC inside it.

The user will have 15 minutes to ride the cab, with the VC, wherein he or she can pitch their startup ideas, take guidance and network. The cab will drop back at the starting location after 15 minutes.

Considering the uniqueness of this offer, only one person would be allowed inside the cab with the VC.

There would be no charge for this ride.

Disruptive Ideas With Uber

In the last few months, Uber has been experimenting with unique ideas and concepts to create awareness about their app, and to give their users’ a unique experience. Infact, they wish to make the whole process of booking an Uber cab as a new, unique experience.

Last month, Delhi users of Uber were pleasantly surprised to experience Ferrari, Hummer, Lamborghini rides, for free. Though not every user was able to get a ride in these super cars, the unique offer created enough anticipation and hype among Delhites.

This week, under another unique program, Uber allowed their users to meet Abhishek Bachchan and Asin inside an Uber app, as a special marketing initiative for their next movie All Is Well.

Uber’s competitor Ola is not left behind in this race of delighting customers with unique offers and experiences. For instance, we had reported yesterday that Ola has come up with an offer in association with OnePlus, wherein their customers can experience OnePlus 2 handset, and even win the handset via special contest.

Ola has already started an online food delivery and grocery business, using their taxi hailing app.
