Microsoft, world’s biggest software company has teamed up with world’s biggest ecommerce portal Amazon to sell their hardware, software and games. This is Microsoft’s first such exclusive store in India.

Amazon Microsoft Store

With this exclusive launch of brand store, consumers can now purchase both hardware and software from the official outlet, thereby ensuring that they are purchasing only the original product, at the right price with full benefits of after sale service.

This new Brand Store by Microsoft will offer complete range of their products, right from “Lumia and Nokia mobile devices, Windows phones and tablets, Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles, games and accessories, packaged software products like Windows and Office and accessories such as wireless keyboard, wireless mice and web cameras.”

Ram Narayan Iyer, Group Director – Retail, Sales and Marketing, Microsoft India said, “We see tremendous opportunity in delivering Microsoft products especially the Xbox and our Lumia phones to the natively digital customers. The Microsoft Brand store on Amazon.in will help us to reach more such customers and offer them some of the best deals on our products.”

In order to attract consumers to their brand store, Microsoft is right now offering several bundled packages which are exclusively available on their Amazon store.

For example, gaming lovers can buy Xbox One Assassins Creed Kinect Bundle with three free games (Assassin’s Creed Unity, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag and Dance Central Spotlight), plus an additional Wireless Controller free.

There is another such exclusive bundle: Xbox One Standalone bundle with FIFA 15, with a limited period discount of Rs. 5,000, and an additional Wireless Controller free.

The Amazon store of Microsoft has 6 major categories: Xbox; Windows Phone; Windows 8.1; Office; Accessories and Laptops/Tablets.

Further, there is a section for New and Exclusive where we found Lumia 535; Xbox One ACU Bundle and Xbox One FIFA bundle right now.

There is a ‘deals’ section as well, where we currently found Lumia 1320 for Rs 14,999 (original price listed is Rs 23,999), Lumia 625 for Rs 9030 (original price listed is Rs 19,999) and Xbox bundles as shared above.

Earlier, there was no such ‘one stop’ destination to buy Microsoft’s products (especially hardware), and consumers had no option but to purchase from different vendors, although there exists an official online Microsoft store to purchase software. However, if we compare the price of Windows 8.1 on both of these platforms, then we will find that Amazon brand store is much economical and low priced compared to their official store.

Windows 8.1 is available for Rs 10,999 on their official store; meanwhile it is available for Rs 7999 on their brand store on Amazon.

In August this year, Microsoft had teamed up with Amazon to sell Xbox One exclusively on their platform. With this new brand store on Amazon, they have not only taken their partnership forward but also opened an easy, seamless interface for Indian consumers to purchase their products.
