Do you remember GOSF or the Great Online Shopping Festival conducted last year and the year before? In all probability your answer will be “Yes”. But in the same breath, you may also remember the fiasco that happened around it (but we will not go into it too much)!
Now, in the third year running GOSF will be conducted around the same dates as last year – between 10th to 12th December 2014– and this time, from what we know, Google is planning to create unprecedented buzz coupled with some great discounts and offers.
GOSF in 2012 did not go very well – we called it The great online shopping farce. In 2013, the GOSF had some good, some bad and some crappy shopping deals, but was better than 2012 and in terms of numbers, it did quite well.
Now, in 2014, we expect GOSF to do much better than previous 2 years and if people did not have enough discounts and deals with Flipkart’s Billion Day sale or Snapdeal’s savings day sale (which incidentally is going on today), GOSF is now less than a month away.

This year GOSF 2014 will launch it’s website 14 days ahead of shopping festival, and will offer completely free shopping on 14 select brands participating in GOSF. And to top it, the action will be televised live on national TV channels!
GOSF is also going all out in terms of advertising & marketing – They are planning for a big PR buzz along with wide coverage through Print and Television advertisements. They also plan to advertise heavily through hoardings across 14 major cities across India.
All in all, GOSF buzz could go beyond what we have seen and experienced even with Flipkart Billion day Sale. According to our sources, this GOSF will reach over 100 million Indian users.
GOSF 2014 expects to have over 300 different brands and partners offering deals and heavy discounts. Even the brand categories have been extended that include Two Wheeler deals, exclusive travel packages, arts & collectibles and more.
From what we have seen and heard, GOSF is expected to create buzz like never before!
