Amazon.in Bulks Up Further, Adds Watches & Fashion Jewellery To Their Catalogue!
Its amazing what amazon.in has done in 3 months of their marketplace launch. Just last week they added 2 new categories – Personal Care Appliances & Baby Toys & products. And now, Amazon’s ever growing catalogue has 2 more categories listed – Watches & Fashion Jewellery.
With these categories getting added, Amazon.in has now entered into Lifestyle products niche. Lifestyle product stores like Myntra and Jabong now need to be wary of this development. Though, it does not list fashion apparels, it won’t be long before it shows up on their catalogue.
Infact, if this rumour is to be believed, they will be hitting the fashion apparel segment much more aggressively.
Also, these new categories have not been added just for the sake of it – they have large number of products listed under them. For example, Amazon’s watches section has Over 3000 men’s wrist watches, over 2500 women and children wrist watches!
According to their press release, the watches store offers over 5500 products from more than 50 leading brands including Casio, Timex, Titan, Fastrack, Fossil, Esprit, Tommy Hilfiger, Sonata, Citizen, Disney, Diesel, DKNY, Guess and more.
Even their Fashion jewellery section has over 22,000 designs listed under necklaces, pendants, ear rings, bracelets etc.
In regards to their Watches and Fashion Jewellery store launch, Narendra Kumar, Creative Head of Amazon India, said, “ We have been very passionate about offering an eclectic collection. Designs range from international to tribal, from spunky to ethnic from established brands to new designers and all of these at great prices. Every month we will present a special trendy collection. Check out this month’s Haute new Ethno mod look with old and colourful pieces, where East meets the west.”
With these 2 categories, Amazon.in has now added more than 27,500 products from more than 180 brands to their already bulky and growing catalogue of product offerings.
I would not really be surprised if Amazon takes the top spot amongst all the e-commerce sites in India by year end… What do you think?
