MTS Starts Offering Unlimited Voice Plans For Rs. 199 [Tariff Wars]
Most Indian Telecom operators are currently struggling to increase their ARPUs (Average Revenue per User}. However, looks like that is not a deterrent for some of the operators, especially the smaller ones, to bring in plans that may trigger fresh round of tariff wars.
MTS India, an offshoot of Sistema Shyam Teleservices, has announced an unlimited Voice plans for a price of only Rs. 199. The plan called as “Always Talk” is for pre-paid customers only and will offer unlimited calls on their network (Calls from MTS to MTS). The plan which has a validity of 30 days will also offer 1000 minutes of calling to other operators as well.
These kind of plans are generally very popular with Indians, as it allows them to have their family members on same network and avail of unlimited calling at a very low cost. Small business owners also prefer these kind of plans because they can cut down their cost on communication by having their workforce on same network.
With Mobile number portability, the users who avail this plan can also easily switch between operators without changing their existing numbers.
Uninor is another operator who gained quite a few subscribers last year by announcing launch of similar plans few months back.
The “Always Talk” plan by MTS has been launched in all the 9 circles in which operates namely, Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Kolkata, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh (West) and West Bengal.
