Stanford has just announced its nine-week, part-time certificate program called “Stanford Ignite” that essentially teaches entrepreneurs and innovators how to formulate, develop, and commercialize their ideas.

Given the course content, this program is probably the best certification course a potential innovator or entrepreneur can undertake. The program teaches you core business skills and offers you experience in working with the teams to evaluate and develop ideas into a proper business plan.

Stanford Ignite program is targeted at people who wish to bring innovation and entrepreneurial thinking in their existing role or for those who are planning to start their own venture!

The best part is, the faculty who will be taking this program will be the same who conduct Stanford’s famed MBA program in the US. Also, the participants will be able to listen to Industry experts and Venture Capitalists who will offer guest lectures.

“Stanford Ignite” program is awesome, there is no doubt about that fact… until you come to know about the fees.

According to the Stanford Ignite page, this nine-week part-time certificate program will cost you USD 8350 or about Rs. 4,50,000. Yes, I do understand that it is Stanford who are offering program, but a fee of Rs. 4.5 Lakh is seriously out of reach of nearly everyone. Except a few top executives, I doubt there will be anyone else who can afford that kind of monies. And for the once who can afford that kind of monies, I am not sure if they need help with creating their business plan.

However, if you can pay up those kind of monies, here are the details of “Stanford Ignite Program”

I don’t think, one can teach entrepreneurship to be a successful Entrepreneur.

To make it simple, I feel it all depends on the vision – about predicting current / future market requirement, belief and risk taking ability of an individual.

Oh common Stanford. With Rs. 4,50,000 I can start my own online business and get ROI within 2 months. (Yes I’m confident).
Two weeks time is enough to learn Entrepreneurship using all available resources on the Internet for FREE. (Below is my budget for 2 months to starting a web based small business)

12000*2 = 24000 > To live in Bangalore (For Accommodation and Food)
    1500*2 = 3000 > For High Speed Internet Connection.
3000*2 = 6000 > For Website Hosting Space and related services.
    10000*2(3) = 60000 > For 3 Freelancers.
    75000*2 = 150000 > For Advertising and Marketing my product/website in Online.
So Totally Rs. 2,43,000 is the investment for two months.
Remaining Rs. 2,07,000 is can be a saving for now.

Anyway this can be a motivation for me. Thanks for sharing Arun. :)
