Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 comes to India: Price, Specs & more

Finally, the much talked about Nokia phones, the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820  have been launched in India. Announced in New Delhi during a launch event, all these 3 windows based phones will soon be available with online as offline retailers in India.

Nokia Lumia 920 Specifications & Price

Lumia 920, the flagship Windows phone from Nokia boasts some excellent specs that includes Snapdragon S4 dual-core 1.5 Ghz processor, a 4.5-inch 1280 × 768 pixels Pure Motion HD+ IPS display, and 8.7 megapixels pureview camera that promises excellent photos even in very low light conditions.

Nokia 920

Another highlight about Lumia 920 is its li-Ion battery, powered at 2000 mAh allowing upto 10.8 hours of Talk time (3G) and 460 hours of Standby time (3G), easily allowing you run the battery for 2 complete days even on moderate to high usage. Nokia 920 also has support for wireless charging.

Overall Nokia Lumia 920 is neat high-end windows 8 phone, which should easily be a pleasure for anyone to use.

However, this neat phone does not come cheap. It’s retail price in India is Rs. 38,199/-. I am personally quite disappointed with the price point and think that Nokia may have lost an opportunity here. Given the fact that Nokia needs to aggressively sell their smartphones, the price point is much higher. Compare this to LG Nexus 4, who have much better specs and officially priced nearly half as much as Lumia 920.

Flipkart has already listed this phone for Rs. 36,999/-.

Nokia Lumia 820 Specifications & Price

The Lumia 820 has slightly lower specs compared to 920, that include same Snapdragon S4 dual-core 1.5 Ghz processor and 1GB of Ram. However, comes with a slightly smaller 4.3 inch ClearBlack AMOLED display with WVGA resolution (800X480), which is on the lower side of spectrum.

Lumia 820

The Lumia 820 comes with a 1650 mAh battery that allows upto 8.1 hour of Talk time (3G) and 360 hours of Standby time (3G) easily allowing the battery to last for nearly one and half days with moderate usage. It has a 8 megapixel camera that can shoot 1920X1080 full HD videos, but lacks the Pureview technology that comes with Lumia 920.

One of the most attractive things about these Lumia phones is the attractive colors that they come in and standout from the crowd. Also, given that they have windows 8 OS on them, the learning curve will be much lesser as compared to the Android phones.

Nokia Lumia 820 is priced at Rs. 26,999, which I think is decent pricing for the specs that are on offer. This phone is also available on Flipkart, but is at “coming soon” stage.

About Nokia 620, it will be available in the last week of Jan.
