The days are gone when Apple used to take months on months to bring new iPhones to India. Sometimes, it used to be so late that previous version of iPhone launched in India when the next version was due in Western countries. That is not the case anymore… Although, the launch is relatively later as compared to many other countries, it is only couple of weeks time and not in months as it used to be earlier.
Most of the online sites have started selling iPhone. Infact, sites like ebay had listed it within a day of its launch, albeit at a very high price.
Today, Airtel and Aircel have started taking pre-orders for iPhone 5. Listing on both the operators’ website is exactly same. The price for Apple iPhone 5 (16 GB version) has been put up at Rs. 45,500/-.
iPhone 5 pre-order on Airtel Website
iPhone 5 pre-order on Aircel Website
Both sites will start shipping iPhone 5 on November 2nd and it will take around 6-7 days for you to get your hands on the one of the most coveted devices.
iPhone 5 32 GB version is available for Rs. 52,500, while the 64 GB version is available for Rs. 59,500/-. These prices are same on both the websites.
Infibeam is another site where you can pre-order iPhone 5 as well.
However, if you do not want to wait for 6-7 days also, there are ebay listings that are now offering 16GB black version for Rs. 50,999/-. That is the lowest rate currently offered on Ebay.
So, those who were putting off the iPhone 5 purchases due to its exorbitant cost earlier, can go ahead and purchase them. I don’t think these prices are going to come down in a hurry. I’d suggest you look for discount codes and coupons before you order..you may end up saving couple of thousand rupees.
